BOTAS RECEIVES 750 THOUSAND BARRELS OF CRUDE OIL
ADANA - A total of 750 thousand barrels of crude oil reached to Pipeline Transportation Corp (Botas) facilities in Ceyhan town of southern province of Adana through Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline where pumping activities were halted due to fire.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Saturday, ''the pipeline was re-opened as of 16.30 local time on August 13. We received 750 thousand barrels of crude oil and stored them in our facilities.''
''It is natural to experience failures in the pipeline. These are the difficulties stemming from the war. The most important thing is resumption of oil pumping,'' they added.
Kirkuk-Yumurtalik crude oil pipeline which carried a limited amount of oil from Iraq under the decisions of the United Nations following the Gulf War, was closed due to the U.S.-led military operation against Iraq. Officials started pumping oil to Iraq through the pipeline as of August 13.
