ISTANBUL - National Education Minister Huseyin Celik said on Friday that keeping on agenda the pain and negative things seen in the history and keeping responsible today's generations for the things that happened in the past would not be useful for anybody.
Celik attended the gala dinner held upon the 50th foundation anniversary of Surp Hac Armenian High School.
Addressing the dinner, Celik said that the most loathsome thing in the world was racism. Noting that he didn't consider democracy as the domination of the majority over the minority, Celik said that education should be directed towards love and share.
Noting that some of the Armenian diaspora try to keep on agenda the things that happened in the past, Celik said that ''we need brotherhood, sharing, solidarity and humanity. Everybody who are citizens of Turkish Republic are first class citizens irrespective of their religion, language, colour, and ethnic origin.''
Celik added that Armenian community in Turkey had 17 schools including 5 high schools.
