Delegations From U.S. Senate And House Of Representatives Due In Turkey

ANKARA - Delegations from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives will hold meetings with Turkish officials in Ankara next week.
Releasing a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Friday a delegation headed by John Murtha, a senior member of the U.S. House of Representatives Allocations Committee Sub-Commission for Defense would visit Ankara between August 18 and 19, 2003.
Later, another delegation headed by U.S. Senate International Affairs Committee Chairman Richard Lugar would pay a visit to Turkey between August 19 and 20.
Members of the delegations will meet with officials of the ministries of foreign affairs, justice and national defense and of the General Staff.
Meanwhile, two other U.S. delegations will visit Turkey in August in an organization of Washington D.C.-based American-Turkish Council and New York-based Turkish-American Business Forum.
