Negotiations On 250 Million Euros Of Financial Aid Turkey To Get From Eu In 2004 To Begin In September

ANKARA - Negotiations on 250 million euros of financial aid which Turkey will get from the European Union (EU) in 2004 will begin in September.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Friday that Turkey would get 1 billion 50 million euros of financial aid from the Union in the period of 2004-2006 within the scope of financial cooperation.
Turkey which will use 250 million U.S. dollars in 2004 is expected to get 300 million euros of financial aid in 2005 and 500 million euros in 2006.
Negotiations which will start in September is planned to continue till January at the bureaucratic level. Fields which will be given priority and what kinds of projects will be supported will be determined during negotiations.
Financial aid from the EU can be used in providing regulation adjustment, development of administrative capacity and projects of development within the scope of economic and social adjustment.
When this source is used, projects will be determined by taking into consideration of Preliminary National Development Plan.
Supporting regional development projects for financial aid is included in targets.
