Turkey To Build Hospital In Baghdad

ANKARA - Turkey will build hospital in Baghdad having 50-bed capacity. This will be within humanitarian aid.
One million U.S. dollars of the five million U.S. dollars, which had been allocated from the special fund for humanitarian aid to Iraq, was sent to United Nations as monetary aid.
Establishment of hospitals in Baghdad and Kirkuk was planned with the remaining four million U.S. dollars, however following feasibility studies, a decision had later been given that only one hospital could be build with that amount of money.
The money was transferred to Housing and Public Works Ministry for the construction of the hospital in the region in Baghdad which was determined by Iraqi Red Crescent.
Housing and Public Ministry will open a tender for construction of the hospital. Health Ministry will provide medical equipment of the hospital after its construction.
Turkey plans to set up another hospital in Kirkuk after the hospital in Baghdad.
