SHARM EL-SHEIKH - In a meeting with the U.S. deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked the United States to put into force a trilateral mechanism against terrorist PKK organization especially after the establishment of the present Iraqi government, said sources on Sunday.
Erdogan and Zoellick discussed current issues that are on the agenda of both Turkey and the United States.
Zoellick informed Erdogan on the new Iraqi government and requested from Erdogan to continue to support the activities of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Iran.
According to Turkish diplomatic sources, Erdogan criticized the presence of only one Turkmen minister in Iraq's cabinet. Erdogan expressed Turkey's sensitivity on the city of Kirkuk to Zoellick.
