ANKARA - The number of people who were detained by the police in connection with the armed attack on Council of State judges rose to five.
Teams of Anti-Terror Department and Intelligence Department Directorate examined the mobile phone talks of Alparslan Arslan and detained 3 people; Mehmet A. (22), Sinan B (50), and Saim O (38).
Arslan told in his questioning that he had not stayed at any hotel or a house on Tuesday night, but he stayed in a car that night.
The attack occurred in the Council of State Chamber 2 during a committee meeting on Wednesday morning. Five judges, including Mustafa Yucel Ozbilgin, were wounded in the attack. The assailant, lawyer Arslan Alparslan from the Istanbul Bar, was detained and taken to the Anti-Terror Department for interrogation.
Ozbilgin, who was shot in the head, later died in the hospital.
