KAGIZMAN - Four people were trapped under soil after a landslide occurred in Kagizman town in eastern city of Kars on Wednesday, witnesses said.
Witnesses told A.A correspondent that efforts are under way to rescue Filiz Yildirim, Volkan Yildirim, Aytekin Bozyel and Ayse Karakas, who were trapped due to the landslide in Yukari Karaguney village.
Houses near the landslide area are being evacuated. Later, search and rescue teams will launch efforts to rescue the trapped people.
Meanwhile, Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) has sent 200 tents, 1,000 blankets, foodstuffs, generators, and portable kitchen to the disaster area.
