ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, ''we will take steps in line with interests of both our people and Iraqi people.''
Prime Minister Erdogan responded questions of journalists before leaving for Bandirma.
When asked whether or not a consensus of opinion was reached during the summit meeting at the Cankaya Presidential Palace in which the issue of dispatch of Turkish soldiers to Iraq was taken up in detail, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''a statement has already been made following the meeting. As you see in the statement, a consensus of opinion is in question. This process will continue.''
When asked, ''earlier, President Ahmet Necdet Sezer expressed his concerns about the issue of international legitimacy. Has he convinced at the meeting?'' Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''the statement includes views of our president, our government and the General Staff.''
