ANKARA - Treasury conducted two separate auctions on Tuesday to sell 406-day discounted state notes and 238-day discounted bonds.
In the first auction, Treasury sold 2 quadrillion 45.5 trillion Turkish liras (TL) nominal-valued 406-day discounted state notes although the total bid had been 5 quadrillion 325.8 trillion TL. The net sale was 1 quadrillion 385.5 trillion TL.
The composite interest rate became 41.80 percent and simple interest rate became 42.70 percent. The maturity of these state notes is September 22, 2004.
Meanwhile, the net sale to public was 349.5 trillion TL.
In the second auction, Treasury sold 1 quadrillion 119.9 trillion TL nominal-valued 238-day discounted bonds although the total bid had been 1 quadrillion 703.1 trillion TL. The net sale was 892.1 trillion TL.
The composite interest rate became 41.60 percent and simple interest rate became 39.06 percent. The maturity of these bonds is April 7, 2004.
Meanwhile, the net sale to public was 183.5 trillion TL.
Treasury will repay 5 quadrillion 505 trillion TL in domestic borrowing this week.
