Erdogan: We Will Discuss Iraqi Issue In Its Broadest Context Today

EKINLIK ISLAND - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said regarding the Iraqi summit that will be held in Presidential Palace the same day that ''today we will take up the issue in a broad context, discuss all of its dimensions and then a decision will be taken.''
Responding to questions of journalists before leaving Ekinlik island for Ankara, Erdogan said that a statement would be issued after the summit.
''We will have a meeting today under the leadership of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer with Interior Minister, National Defense Minister, Chief of General Staff, and Foreign Minister. A statement will be issued after the summit. We said that the government was assessing the issue till today. We will discuss the issue in its broadest context today, we will discuss its advantages and disadvantages, and a decision will be given. In line with this summit decision, the government will make its assessment as the Council of Ministers. Later, the decision of the Council of Ministers will be formed,'' Erdogan said.
''Does the U.S. ask for a certain date for sending soldiers to Iraq if a decision is taken?'' asked a journalist to Erdogan who said that ''so far, there is no date that has been mentioned to us, these are all technical issues.''
