ANKARA - The 13th International Aspendos Opera & Ballet Festival will be held in southern resort city of Antalya between June 10th and July 22nd.
Holding a news conference, State Opera & Ballet Director General Meric Sumen said that the festival would begin on June 10th with Giuseppe Verdi's opera ''Aida''.
''The worldwide prominent London Royal Ballet and Berlin Opera will be our guests this year. The London Royal Ballet will stage Jules Emile Frederic Massanet's 'Manon' on July 15th. The Berlin Opera will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'Magic Flute' on July 1st and 3rd,'' he said.
Sumen noted, ''Zurich Ballet are among guests of this year's festival. They will greet Turkish audience with 'Cello Suites-Winds in the Void' on June 24th.''
''The festival will end on June 22nd with Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana' to be performed by Antalya State Opera and Ballet,'' she added.
Nearly 50 thousand people are expected to watch this year's festival.
