ANKARA - It was revealed that the gunmen who staged an armed attack in the Council of State, Turkey's top administrative court, was a lawyer from the Istanbul Bar.
Aslan Alpaslan, the gunmen, was detained right after the attack, and taken to the Security Department for interrogation.
Meanwhile, sources told the A.A that Alpaslan came to the Council of State building yesterday and tried to enter the office of Mustafa Birden, chairman of the Council of State Chamber 2. When officials informed the police, he left the building.
It was also revealed that Alpaslan used a Glock type hang-gun during the attack.
Turkish State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin, Justice Minister Cemil Cicek, Ankara Governor Kemal Onal and Ankara Police Chief Ercument Yilmaz rushed to the Council of State.
