STOCKHOLM - King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will pay a visit to Turkey between May 29th and June 2nd upon the invitation of Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.
Deputy Prime Minister Bosse Ringholm and a number of Swedish businessmen will accompany the King during his visit to Turkey.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will proceed to the western city of Izmir after completing their schedule in Ankara. They will visit the ancient city of Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary.
Turkish Ambassador to Sweden Necip Eguz said that it would be the first royal visit from Sweden to Turkey, adding, ''we believe that the visit of King Carl XVI Gustaf will further accelerate the relations between the two countries.
