LISBON - Turkey attaches importance to protection of its current family structure during its EU adjustment process, Turkish State Minister Nimet Cubukcu said on Tuesday.
Taking the floor in the 28th Conference of European Ministers Responsible for Family Affairs in Portuguese capital of Lisbon, Cubukcu stressed that 97 percent of families in Turkey are living altogether as a core family.
''Besides the core families, Turkish people have close relations with their relatives. And, this contributes to solution of many socioeconomic problems in our country,'' she added.
