ANKARA - Turkish Environment & Forestry Minister Osman Pepe met ambassadors of EU member countries at dinner in Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday.
Before the dinner hosted at the Bilkent Hotel, Pepe told reporters that he will brief the ambassadors on Turkey's environmental policies.
''We want the EU to extend donation to us, as much as it has extended to other members. We will prepare a plan covering the next 17 or 18 years. This period will be comprised of two parts, one till 2014 and the other till 2023. We will try to fulfil necessary requirements to become an EU member in the first part, and we will prepare a road map to reach the level of developed countries in the second part,'' he said.
Pepe added that the detailed screening process regarding his ministry will be launched in Brussels at the end of May or beginning of June.
