ANKARA - Privatization Administration Chairman Metin Kilci said on Monday that they were trying to make ready auction announcements of Petrochemical Holding Inc. (Petkim) within August and if they could not, they would make it at latest in the beginning of September.
Kilci replied to questions of A.A correspondent regarding the auction of Petkim. He said that they aimed to complete preparations rapidly for the privatization of Petkim.
Noting that they were trying to complete preparations about auction announcements within August, Kilci said that if they could not complete, they would make them ready at latest in the beginning of September. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said that he gave directions for the reopening of auction of Petkim and it would be opened rapidly.
Emphasizing that they would not make any changes in the contracts regarding privatization of Petkim, Kilci said that the auction would be opened for the privatization of 88.86 percent share of Petkim.
Kilci said that they could clear some issues in the contract regarding the payment.
Kilci also said that companies which prevented the privatization would not be allowed to attend privatization auctions.
