ISTANBUL - ''I have received a briefing on the current status of the banking sector in Turkey from Turkish Banking Union executive board members today,'' said Ali Babacan, Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks.
Babacan told reporters, after his meeting with the Turkish Banking Union executive board members, that the basic economic programs of the government should not be questioned. ''All questions on our economic policies are irrelevant and unnecessary,'' stated Babacan.
Ali Babacan stressed that inflation rates in Turkey show how successful the current administration is in economic matters. ''We will not turn back from our targeted inflation rates,'' commented Babacan.
Meanwhile, Turkish Banking Union CEO Ersin Ozince has remarked that the current economic balances in Turkey are some of the best in all Turkish history. ''Turkey will always be a shining star in its region,'' expressed Ozince.
