-58 PEOPLE DETAINED IN 25 OPERATIONS
ISTANBUL - Istanbul Police confiscated 60.16 kilograms of hashish and 238 grams of heroin in two separate operations.
The police teams also impounded 129,484 illicit pills during the operations called ''Vurgun'' and ''Dolunay''.
56,692 grams of hashish was confiscated in ''Vurgun'' operation launched on May 12th, 2006 in Gaziosmanpasa and Bahcelievler districts, and five people were captured in that operation.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation called ''Dolunay'', 129,000 illicit pills were seized on May 13th, 2006, and five people were taken into custody in connection with the haul.
In 23 operations carried out against street sellers, 238 grams of heroin, 3,324 kg hashish, and 484 illicit pills were seized.
Police arrested 48 people within the scope of those 23 operations.
