ISTANBUL - World famous Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova is due to Turkey to participate in the WTA Istanbul Cup Tennis Tournament.
U.S. tennis player Lindsay Davenport was initially scheduled to arrive in Istanbul but won't be able to do so due to an injury. Sharapova has replaced Davenport in the tournament.
Sharapova is ranked the 4th in WTA list.
Anastasia Myskina of Russia who is ranked the 13th and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany who is ranked the 14th have been earlier announced to attend the Istanbul Cup.
