CANAKKALE - The crew of North Korean flagged cargo ship ''Krimea M'', which had run aground in Canakkale Strait eight months ago, managed to rescue the vessel with their own efforts on Monday.
The empty cargo ship had run aground by dragging from Sevketiye district of Lapseki town due to strong storm while going from Thessaloniki, Greece to Ukraine eight months ago.
The ship anchored off Sevketiye village.
The villagers in Sevketiye and Lapseki head official helped the seven people crew of Ukranian origin who were left without food when the Greek ship owner had not interested in starting rescue efforts.
