BRUSSELS - Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul attended a meeting of the European Union (EU) Defense Ministers Troika's designed to inform non-EU member NATO Allies and EU Candidates.
Gonul told his colleagues in Brussels that Turkey will contribute to the stability and security of the Democratic Congo Republic by providing a C-130 cargo plane before the upcoming elections in July in Congo.
Ministers in Brussels discussed diverse issues including strategic air transportation, naval forces, cooperation with NATO, Emergency Response Power, technological researches, command, control and communication systems.
The ministers also discussed operations as part of ''Crisis Management''. EU's role to facilitate security and stability in the Balkans was also discussed.
Gonul will return to Turkey on Tuesday morning.
