Public Works And Settlement Minister Ergezen Leaves For Sarajevo

ISTANBUL - Public Works and Settlement Minister Zeki Ergezen left for Sarajevo on Monday to place ''keystone'' of Mostar Bridge which has been rebuilt.
Ergezen held a press conference at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
Recalling that the historical bridge in Mostar was destroyed during the war in 1993, Ergezen said that actually more than 60 bridges had collapsed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but collapse of Mostar caused sorrow as being both a symbol and a prestige project.
Noting that a Turkish construction company had started to rebuild the bridge in 2002 following a tender held with the leadership of World Bank in 2001, Ergezen said, ''rebuilding of bridge caused happiness as much as it caused sorrow while it was destroyed. The bridge will be completed this year. Keystone of the bridge will be placed. I am going to Mostar to place the keystone.''
Ergezen also said that he would hold bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina during his visit.
