General Ozteker Pays A Farewell Visit To President Denktas Of N. Cyprus

LEFKOSA - Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus Commander General Ahmet Ozteker, whose two-year term in office came to an end, paid a farewell visit to President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Monday.
President Denktas thanked General Ozteker for fulfilling his mission successfully.
Recalling that the draft agreements, which were presented to the Turkish Cypriot side, envisaged immediate withdrawal of Turkish soldiers from the island, President Denktas said, ''because withdrawal of Turkish soldiers will facilitate them to reach their targets. However, we want an agreement including de facto and active guarantee of Turkish soldiers. We will not give up our sovereignty.''
Meanwhile, General Ozteker said in his part that Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus was the guarantee of security of Turkish Cypriot people and territorial integrity of TRNC.
