ISTANBUL - The Tukish privatisation office OIB said Monday it was preparing to sell an additional 25.0-percent stake in the national Turkish Airlines.
"As part of the public offer program, requests will be taken starting tomorrow (Tuesday) and will continue until May 18. We expect to list these shares on the stock market from May 25," Anatolia news agency quoted OIB president Metin Kilci as telling a news conference.
Turkey sold 24.82 percent of the airline in a partial privatisation in 2004.
Kilci said that an additional 3.75 percent of the carrier could be sold as well, which would make the state a minority shareholder with a stake of 46.43 percent.
No financial details were provided regarding the pending sale, however.
Turkish Airlines has set a goal this year of 20 million passengers and sales of three billion dollars.
The group carried 14 million people last year, according to its Internet site.
