ANKARA - ''A serious tension between the United States and Iran can increase oil prices for Turkey,'' said Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler today.
''However, as far as natural gas is concerned, Turkey will not be affected on the topic of natural gas as Turkey has a contract with Iran,'' noted Guler.
Speaking to the AA correspondent, Guler stressed that Turkey has a ''plan B'' in case of significant increase in the prices of oil.
''Turkey is searching for oil reserves both in and out of the country. We are searching for ways to diversify energy sources,'' stressed Guler.
Guler added that Turkey can compensate any losses incurred during tension between the U.S. and Iran.
