ANKARA - ``We will continue to implement fluctuating foreign exchange regime which is the precondition of inflation targeting. However, we also closely pursue the developments in foreign exchange market,`` said Turkish Central Bank Governor Durmus Yilmaz on Friday.
In an exclusive interview with the A.A correspondent, Yilmaz said macro economic figures within the framework of current economic program were stable, however price stability could not be ensured fully.
Yilmaz said implementations should be carried out with determination and without any deviation from the program.
``In a statement issued after monetary committee`s meeting last month, we have remarked that new data in the short period would be pursued carefully with respect to monetary policy. Even if the inflation figures in April were above the expectations, this development does not include an information that will change our medium term perspective,`` he indicated.
Emphasizing that essential task of the Central Bank was to preserve price stability, Yilmaz said, ``in line with this target, Central Bank will continue to analyze the developments affecting medium term tendency of the inflation.``
