NEVSEHIR - A total of 812,393 Turkish and foreign tourists visited Cappadocia region in central Nevsehir province in the first seven months of 2003.
Nevsehir Museum Directorate officials said that 645,160 Turkish tourists and 167,233 foreign tourists visited Goreme Open Air Museum, Zelve ruins, Cavusin, El Nazar and Gulsehir St. Jean churches, Gulsehir ruins, Tatlarin, Mazi, Ozkonak, Kaymakli and Derinkuyu underground cities between January and July 2003.
A total of 411,663 Turkish and 290,158 foreign tourists visited the region in the same period last year.
The number of Turkish tourists who visited the region increased 56.7 percent and the number of foreign tourists who visited the region increased 42.3 percent in the first seven months of 2003 when compared to the same period of 2002.
A TOTAL OF 135,000 PASSENGERS ARRIVE AT AND DEPART FROM ATATURK AIRPORT INTERNATIONAL LINES ON FIRST THREE DAYS OF AUGUST
A total of 135,000 passengers arrived at and departed from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport International Lines on the first three days of August 2003.
The number of passengers who arrived at and departed from the airport increased 28 percent on the first three days of August 2003 when compared to the same period of last year.
Officials from Ataturk Airport told the A.A correspondent that 43,580 passengers arrived at and departed from the airport on August 1; 44,459 passengers on August 2 and 46,322 passengers on August 3.
A total of 105,319 passengers arrived at and departed from the airport on the first three days of August 2002.
The number of passengers who arrived at and departed from Ataturk Airport International Lines reached 722,717 in January; 773,116 in February; 648,518 in March; 642,659 in April; 783,366 in May; 879,547 in June and 1,125,121 in July.
