NEW YORK - Turkey was elected as members to three separate commissions of the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Council, diplomatic sources said on Thursday.
The sources said Turkey was elected as member to the Commission on Status of Women, Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, and NGO Committee.
The statement said the candidacies in question were earlier approved by Western European and Other States Group (WEOG), which Turkey is a member of.
