DIYARBAKIR - Juvenile Court in southeastern city of Diyarbakir on Wednesday released five more children who were tried on charges of getting involved in last month`s illegal demonstrations in this city.
After court`s decision today, number of children released from prison rose to 23. The court released 18 children on Monday and Tuesday.
The indictment seeks imprisonment terms from 9.5 years up to 24 years for the suspects on charges of ``being the member of an armed organization, damaging public places and buildings, and holding illegal demonstrations.``
On March 28th, 2006, illegal demonstrations started after the burial of 4 terrorists in Diyarbakir and continued for 4 days, killing 9 people and injuring almost 360 people including nearly 170 police officers.
