ANKARA - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Thursday that principles of state of law and human rights would be regarded during implementation of the Reassociation Law.
Aksu held a press conference in which he said that the most important aim of adoption of the Reassociation Law was ''to prevent increase in number of mothers who cried for their children who died in clashes with the terrorists.''
Those who wanted to benefit from the law could apply to the nearest police department, gendarmerie department or the prosecutor's office in Turkey, Aksu said.
Aksu noted that those who were currently outside Turkey could benefit from the law by notifying their position to security officers at border gates of Turkey.
''Reassociation Centers'' were established for collective applications, Aksu stated.
Aksu said that those centers were in northwestern Kirklareli province, eastern Van province and Silopi town of southeastern Sirnak province.
Interior Minister Aksu called on the young people who were incited to commit crimes by the terrorist organization to be honorable citizens of Republic of Turkey instead of being a member of the organizations who pushed them into an adventure.
Replying to questions of reporters, Aksu said that 333 inmates and 111 people had applied to benefit from the law so far.
When he was recalled about the claims that ''a delegation of Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) would go to north of Iraq and meet with the terrorist organization PKK and mediate between Turkey and PKK,'' Aksu said that these were just rumors.
Asked if ''sending the leaders of the terrorist organization to Sweden or Norway was in question'', Aksu said that they were all speculation and opened to discussion by the organization.
When asked ''if the bomb attacks staged in southeastern Mardin province on Wednesday and in Ankara and Istanbul the previous days were individual attacks or reaction to the law,'' Aksu said, ''those who stage these attacks are the same organizations. A majority of these attacks are reactions to this law. The terrorist organization carried out many activities to prevent adoption of this law. Later, it increased its attacks.''
When a reporter said, ''there are claims that Mahmur camp will be dissolved within the framework of the law and those who are in the camp will be brought to Turkey to benefit from the law,'' and asked about his evaluations, Aksu said, ''the aim of the law is obvious and clear. None of the articles of the law is ambiguous and none of them hide secret things. The first article is to reassociate the members of the terrorist organization which was formed to commit political and ideological crimes. If it is within this framework, people in this camp can come and benefit.''
Aksu added that mainly people in the south of Turkey had applied to benefit from the law.
