DIYARBAKIR - Juvenile Court in southeastern city of Diyarbakir on Tuesday released 9 more children who were tried on charges of getting involved in last month's illegal demonstrations in this city.
Cengiz Analay, lawyer of the suspects, said the children did not admit the crimes they were charged with.
Analay said there are still 28 children under arrest.
After court's decision today, number of children released from prison rose to 18. The court released 9 children yesterday.
The indictment seeks imprisonment terms from 9.5 years up to 24 years for the suspects on charges of ''being the member of an armed organization, damaging public places and buildings, and holding illegal demonstrations.''
On March 28th, 2006, illegal demonstrations started after the burial of 4 terrorists in Diyarbakir and continued for 4 days, killing 9 people and injuring almost 360 people including nearly 170 police officers.
The hearings of those 28 children will continue till May 18th.
