ISTANBUL/VAN/EDIRNE - Security forces intercepted on Monday 228 migrants in Istanbul, eastern city of Van and northwestern city of Edirne who had entered Turkey illegally.
The migrants of Afghan, Bangladeshi, Pakistan, Somalian, Algerian, Mauritanian, Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian origin were taken into custody for violating Turkish borders and passport law.
They will be deported once the legal proceedings are completed.
