Turkish - Greek Friendship In Gokceada

CANAKKALE - Halil Rustu Akgun, the mayor of Gokceada island of northwestern Canakkale province said on Thursday that Turkish and Greek singers would take stage together during the summer festival they would organize on the island between 10-13 August.
Issuing a written statement, Akgun said that a folk dance group from Thessaloniki and Glikeria Fotiadu, a Greek singer would take part in the festival.
''Our singers will once again prove that two societies having different religions live friendly in Gokceada. We believe that this friendship will further strengthen by such kind of activities,'' he added.
