Red Crescent Chairman Meets With I.F.R.C. Head Of Europe Department Lowndes

ANKARA - Lynette Lowndes, the Head of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Europe Department, visited on Thursday Red Crescent Chairman Ertan Gonen.
Gonen said that they would inform Lowndes about the stocks and initiatives of the Turkish Red Crescent and take up continuing cooperation between Red Crescent and IFRC.
Lowndes said that Turkish Red Crescent had recorded significant development in intervention to disasters after the devastating earthquake of Marmara in 1999.
Turkish Red Crescent was fairly good and rapid in relief efforts after disasters when compared to other countries, Lowndes added.
