Aksu: Reassociation Law Was Adopted Because Of Needs, Not Because Of Requests

ANKARA - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Wednesday that reassociation law was adopted because of needs, not because of requests.
Aksu, who replied to questions in a program broadcast in private NTV channel, said that the reassociation law was prepared in harmony of representatives of all state organs.
Noting that there were almost 5 thousand members of terrorist organization PKK/KADEK in north of Iraq, Aksu said that they predicted that a majority of those people would benefit from the law.
Evaluating influence of the United States in northern Iraq, Aksu stated that the United States raised international cooperation in fight against terrorism to the highest level after the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Aksu pointed out that the reason of intervention in Iraq was fight against terrorism.
The United States was the first country which included PKK-KADEK in the list of terrorist networks, Aksu noted.
Aksu said, ''therefore, it has to fight against PKK/KADEK.''
Asked about when the United States would take action against the terrorist organization, Aksu said that he did not know the strategy to be implemented in Iraq by the United States.
Aksu said, ''we wish that stability will be rapidly settled in Iraq and situation will be normalized in Iraq. We also wish that the administration will be determined, come to power and stability will be maintained.''
When asked about his opinion about sending soldiers to Iraq in line with the demand of the United States, Aksu said that a decision on the issue had not been made yet and it would not be right to announce his personal view before all details of the issue were evaluated.
Commenting on explosions which had recently occurred in Ankara and Istanbul, Aksu said that the terrorist organizations staged those attacks to promote themselves, adding that he could not say anything about which terrorist organization had staged those attacks.
