Acting Parliament Speaker Alptekin Receives U.S. Diplomat Kass

ANKARA - Acting Parliament Speaker Ismail Alptekin received on Tuesday Nick Kass, the U.S. Deputy Political Affairs Counselor to Turkey, whose assignment in Turkey ended.
Alptekin said that Kass had contributed to improvement of bilateral relations during his assignment in Turkey.
Noting that Turkish-U.S. relations had reached the former level although some unfavorable incidents took place during the process in Iraq, Alptekin noted that Turkey wanted peace in the region.
Kass said that he wanted to return to Turkey although he did not know when he could return.
