ANKARA - Turkey has called its ambassadors in French capital of Paris and Canadian capital of Ottawa back to have consultations regarding the so-called Armenian genocide discussions in these countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Namik Tan said on Monday.
Tan told reporters that Turkey's Ambassador to France Osman Koruturk and Ambassador to Canada Aydemir Erman have been called to Ankara for a short time to have consultations on recent baseless Armenian genocide allegations in these two countries.
The two ambassadors are expected to return to the countries where they are assigned to, after these consultations, he added.
Canadian parliament has adopted a resolution, acknowledging the Armenian claims, while Canadian PM Stephen Harper have made remarks in which he qualified unfounded Armenian allegations as ''genocide''.
On the other hand, French parliament will debate a bill on May 18th which makes any rejection of the so-called Armenian genocide a crime.
