ISTANBUL - Anti-war protests were held in Istanbul on Saturday.
Members of the Coalition for Global Peace and Justice and the Mazlum-Der held a demonstration in Fatih district of Istanbul.
Making a press release on behalf of the group, Mehmet Ali Alabora, famous actor, said, ''nearly 110 thousand Iraqi people including women and children, were killed. Museums, schools, hospitals, shopping centers and government offices in Baghdad were looted. Rape and abduction became daily events. On the other hand, the United States says it will purify Iran from nuclear weapons and it will use military force to this end. We hope that Iran will not become another Iraq.''
Meanwhile, a group of members of several non-governmental organizations protested the Iraqi war and the United States' attitude against Iran. They chanted slogans against the United States.
The demonstrations ended peacefully.
