BATUMI - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of International Batumi Airport, Autonomous Republic of Ajaria on Saturday.
Saakashvili said that there were close friendly ties with Turkey, underlining that Turkish businessmen conducted key projects in Georgia.
Saakashvili stressed that Batumi Airport was important for improvement of Black Sea region.
Tuzmen stated that Turkish authorities aimed to increase trade volume to 2 billion USD between the two countries.
