ANKARA - The Ankara Criminal Court decided to acquit Fethullah Gulen on Friday.
Ankara State Security Court (DGM) chief prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against Gulen in 2000 on charges that ''he set up an illegal organization to replace the secular state with a state based on religious rules''. The prosecutor demanded imprisonment terms up to ten years for Gulen.
The prosecutor has the right to appeal this verdict.
