HE GOT ANGRY WITH PAGE WHICH CRITICIZES AKP
A platform was prepared for leaders to take their photographs during the 9th Heads of State & Government Summit of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP). Flag of each country was put on the floor to show where leaders would stand. Greek Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis stepped on Greek flag while he was getting prepared to pose. On the other hand, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan took Turkish flag from the floor and then gave a pose. Caramanlis, then, stepped back from Greek flag. Later, Erdogan visited Ataturk's house in Thessalonica and wanted to sign special notebook in the house, but when he saw a page bearing a criticism against Justice & Development Party (AKP), he got angry and ripped that page from the notebook.
PROVISION ON RECTORS OF NEW UNIVERSITIES CANCELLED
Constitutional Court cancelled the provision which envisions appointment of rectors of new 15 universities for two years by President among three names who are recommended by National Education Minister and Prime Minister for two years. Supreme Court also suspended the enforcement of this cancelled provision.

LAGENDIJK ON TERRORIST ORGANIZATION PKK
Joost Lagendijk, Co-Chairman of the Turkey-European Union (EU) Joint Parliamentary Commission, said that Europe needed politicians of Kurdish origin who did not follow terrorist organization PKK and rejected violence. Joost Lagendijk paid a visit to the Democratic Society Party (DTP) in Ankara. ''The European parliament condemned terrorist attack in Hakkari'', said Lagendijk.
CEREMONY IN HAKKARI
Tanks toured in southeastern city of Hakkari with siren voices yesterday after a blast that took place in the city on Wednesday injuring 21 people including 11 students. Meanwhile, 10 of the injured people were discharged from Hakkari State Hospital.

KURDS SHOULD SAY ''STOP'' TO PKK
The attack in southeastern city of Hakkari in which 11 children were injured caused anger and abhorrence. Yesterday in Hakkari, eight tanks toured the city with sirens and protested the attack.
Also Joost Lagendijk, co-president of Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission, condemned the attack. The Dutch parliamentarian, who would go to the region, said, ''I want Kurdish politicians and people to oppose PKK organization and say, 'violence will not take us anywhere. Don't give in to the supporters of violence.''
TAKES THE FLAG, REMOVES THE PAGE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who attended the 9th Heads of State & Government Summit of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Thessalonica, Greece, removed the Turkish flag from the floor in order to avoid stepping on it. Later Erdogan went to Ataturk's house and removed a page from the special notebook (that visitors sign) as it had a criticism against Justice & Development Party.
Fethi Dorduncu, who wrote on that page, said, ''I will sue him.''

Also European Union condemned terrorist organization PKK which attempted to kill children. Terrorist organization PKK was discussed in a meeting held in Turkish parliament with participation of EU officials yesterday. European Parliament Turkey Rapporteur Camiel Eurlings said that PKK is a terrorist organization, stating that also EU is against terror and terrorist organization PKK.
GUL SIGNALS CHANGE IN 6TH ARTICLE
Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul indicated that Turkey had a full determination on its national security, noting that every kind of measure would be taken. In regard to discussions on anti-terrorism draft law, Gul said that amendments could be made, if they saw it necessary.

''SEE WHAT PKK IS''
Joost Lagendijk, co-president of Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission, said the European Parliament strongly condemned the attack in southeastern city of Hakkari that targeted children.
Turkey-EU JPC member and Turkish Republican People's Party (CHP) parliamentarian Onur Oymen said, ''PKK terrorist organization staged an attack on a bus yesterday and injured children. You are wrong if you just think that PKK launches such attacks to extend period of broadcasts in Kurdish (from 1.5 hours to 24 hours). Nothing can be a reason to kill innocent people. Condemning PKK is not enough.''

SENER: ''AKP DOES NOT SHARE VIEWS OF ARINC''
Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener indicated, ''if Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan does not run for presidential elections and if Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc runs for it, there will be many rivals (of Arinc).'' Sener stressed that Arinc's statements on the April 23rd National Sovereignty & Children's Day were not views of Justice and Development Party (AKP).

According to a report by Turkish Central Bank, there are two risks that can be considered threats to inflation target in 2006. One of them is rise in prices of the services sector and the other is uncertainty with oil prices.

Turkey and Greece decided to leave the past behind and carry the bilateral relations to strategical partnership level. Greek Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis and Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan who met during the 9th Heads of State & Government Summit of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) took important decisions. They agreed that it is necessary to forget the hostility policy and carry the bilateral relations to strategical partnership level.

Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said, ''there is a vacuum in the north of Iraq. This country cannot settle its own security. Terrorist organizations take advantage of this vacuum very well. When our security is in question, we do not hesitate from taking every type of measure. We are quite determined on our security.''

IRAN TAKES OPERATION DECISION TOGETHER WITH TURKEY
It was learned that Turkey and Iran took together the decision on an operation against PKK terrorist organization. Iran has intensified its fight against terrorism after the meeting in Tehran two months ago and has been holding direct talks with governors of Turkish cities of Hakkari and Van with this objective.
LAGENDIJK: KURDS SHOULD SAY STOP TO PKK
A different voice arose from Europe which is accused of not giving sufficient support to Turkey's fight against terrorism. Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission (JPC) Co-President Joost Lagendijk condemned terrorist attack which was staged on a bus carrying students (in Hakkari) and he called on Kurds to rise their opposing voices against PKK terrorist organization.

EU SPEAKS CLEARLY: THIS IS PKK
European parliamentarians condemned PKK with a definite expression. European Parliament (EP) member Eurlings showed the photograph of the baby who was shot dead by PKK terrorists. He said, ''this photograph describes what PKK truly is. We know it very well and we condemn PKK.''
Europe, for the first time, condemned terrorist organization PKK with such definite statements.
Members of European Parliament, who came to Ankara to attend 56th meeting of Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting, said they condemned PKK.
EVEN CALLING IT BARBAROUS IS NOT ENOUGH
Bodies of two cousins, who were lost for 45 days after they left their homes to go to school in Savastepe town in Marmara city of Balikesir, were found in a vacant area.
Murat Kaya, head official of Camurlu village, found the bodies of Tugce Yildirim and her cousin Busra Karabacak who were wrapped in plastic bags.
The prosecutor and the gendarmery teams came to the scene upon Kaya's calling and determined that they were the cousins.
Balikesir Governor's Office said it was difficult to identify the bodies as they were probably mauled by wind animals. School uniforms and shoes of the children were also found in the scene.
