VAN - Security forces captured on Monday 108 foreigners who entered the country illegally in Gevas, Gurpinar, Caldiran and Baskale townships of eastern Van province.
Officials said that acting on a tip off, gendarme forces caught 40 Pakistanis, 14 Bangladeshis, four Iranians, four Palestinians and one Syrian in Caldiran township.
Gendarme forces also captured six Afghans in Baskale township and three Iranians in Baskale town.
Security teams caught 16 Afghans, 16 Bangladeshis, two Iranians and two Indians in Gurpinar town of the province.
Officials said that foreigners would be deported after the legal proceedings.
SECURITY FORCES CAPTURE 14 FOREIGNERS IN AYDIN
Security forces captured 14 foreigners in Didim town of southwestern province of Aydin on Monday.
Acting on a tip off, gendarme teams caught 14 foreigners of Somalian origin who were preparing to pass to Samos island of Greece through illegal ways.
An investigation is under way.
121 FOREIGNERS WHO ENTER TURKEY ILLEGALLY CAUGHT IN A DEPOT IN ISTANBUL
A total of 121 foreigners who entered Turkey illegally were caught in a depot in Kucukkoy, Istanbul.
Istanbul Security Directorate Press Office said in a written statement on Monday that they were informed that foreigners who entered Turkey illegally were staying in a depot in Kucukkoy district of Istanbul.
After getting a warrant from the court on July 29, 2003, police launched an operation to the depot and captured the 121 foreigners who didn't have passports with them.
Police also took into custody the owner of the depot.
