BAKU - Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim met on Saturday with Azerbaijani Minister of Communications Nadir Akhmadov.
The meeting between Turkish-Azerbaijani delegations was held following bilateral meeting of Yildirim and Akhmadov.
Releasing a speech during the meeting of the delegations, Yildirim said that they could further develop the cooperation in communication and transportation between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Noting that the cooperation in those fields entered a development process after Azerbaijan had gained its independence, Yildirim emphasized that further developing those relations was a need.
Noting that Turk Telekom was among the leading institutions in the world in its field, Yildirim said, ''we are ready to share the experiences of Turk Telekom with Azerbaijan.''
Yildirim said that postal service was also developed in Turkey and he added that they could make cooperation in this field as well.
Noting that he believed that his visit would be short but productive, Yildirim said that it was pleasing that two countries had good relations.
Akhmadov said in his part that the communication and transportation services, which were neglected, entered a rapid development process after independence and he added that they trusted Turkey's support in this development process.
Noting that phone conversations with foreign countries became easier with the renovation and development of infrastructure of telephone lines, Akhmadov said that postal service also reached a level which could keep in step with modern conditions with a serious development.
Documents and protocols, which were expected to be signed between two ministries, were taken up during the meeting of Turkish and Azerbaijani delegations headed by Akhmadov.
