ISTANBUL - Hakan Lucius, the Turkey Desk Chief of European Investment Bank said on Friday that Turkey has reached a big momentum and progress recently in order to join the EU.
Developments would continue to be positive if this course continued, told Lucius in a conference he held in Yeditepe University on International Economic Relations.
Stressing that the marks given by international rating institutions could not always be reliable, Lucius said that Turkey could not get long-term credits due to uncertainties stemming from the geographical position of Turkey, Iraqi war and elections. If Turkey used its sources in a better way and develops more sound projects, its credibility would increase, he said.
Lucius stated that the activities and investments of European Investment Bank in Turkey increased every year, adding that ''our investments go on, as we aim to support Turkey on good and bad days.''
Lucius added that positive developments were seen in Turkey.
