DOHA - ''Turkish construction firms are about to become world trade marks,'' said Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen.
Tuzmen participated in the ground breaking ceremony of Doha's new International Airport Terminal Building which is jointly constructed by Japanese TAISEI and Turkish TAV Airports Holding.
''TAV utilizes sophisticated and up-to-date technology. It is a successful Turkish firm,'' told Tuzmen.
According to minister Tuzmen, Turkish contractors completed projects worth over 75 billion USD globally. ''Our contractors are involved in multi-billion USD projects worldwide. Turkish construction firms are constructing airports, freeways, business and shopping centers and five star hotels. I am honored to hear success stories of Turkish firms in many countries,'' noted Tuzmen.
The Doha terminal will take 28 months to construct fully. The project is worth 825 million USD. The Doha terminal will have a closed area of 220,000 square meters. It will have an annual passenger capacity of 12 million.
