ANKARA - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arýnc held a reception in the garden of the parliament on Wednesday upon the closure of the 22nd term legislative year.
Addressing deputies who attended the reception, Arýnc stated that ''we worked for eight months and now we deserve to rest.''
Noting that the mission of the parliament was to represent the people in the best way, Arýnc stated that many resolved steps were taken on the way to EU membership during the legislative year.
Arýnc later told State Minister Ali Babacan who is in charge of economy that the parliament saved money by 23 percent this year.
Upon a question about the credit expected from the U.S., Babacan said that ''we'll speed up the meetings with U.S. after the completion of the fifth review.''
