ANKARA - Parliament adopted on Wednesday seven articles of the bill that foresaw amendment in Public Procurement Law.
According to the adopted articles, purchases of goods and services, construction activities of State Economic Enterprises (SEEs) which act in sectors of energy, water, transportation and telecommunication and foundations' universities will be excluded from the scope of the law.
In addition, purchases from forest villagers' development cooperatives; purchases of war equipment are also among the provisions of exclusion.
No environmental effect assessment reports will be necessary in cases of constructions which will be put out to tender immediately due to natural disasters.
Expressing the views of his party about the bill, CHP deputy group leader Mustafa Ozyurek said that CHP was against the bill. ''If I were in the government, I would simply announce with a two-provision regulation that the existing public procurement law was annulled and the former law was in effect.''
