EDIRNE - Gendarmerie captured 13 people, including eight foreigners who wanted to illegally cross the border, in northwestern Edirne province on Wednesday.
Gendarme forces and border teams detained five Turks who wanted to sneak into Greece and Hamza Erhan who guided five Turks in Meric town.
Meanwhile, eight Palestinians who were arrested in Greece on charges of illegal migration and later deported, were captured in Kuplu hamlet of Meric town.
The foreigners said that they wanted to sneak into various European countries via Greece.
Turkish citizens were handed over to Prosecutor's Office while foreigners will be deported following legal proceedings.
