ANKARA - Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa Miru came to Ankara as the official guest of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.
Miru is accompanied by Syrian Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs and four ministers in his tour of Ankara and Istanbul.
Syrian Prime Minister Miru's visit to Turkey is important because it is the first visit paid to Turkey by Syria in the level of prime minister after 17 years of interval.
SYRIAN PRIME MINISTER MIRU VISITS ANITKABIR
Miru visited Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the Founder of Turkish Republic.
Miru laid a wreath to Ataturk's Mausoleum, observed a minute of silence and signed Anitkabir Special Book.
Syrian Prime Minister Miru will meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler and State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and be received by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc.
Bilateral issues like improvement of political relations and economic cooperation between two countries and regional issues like Iraq and Middle East will be taken up during meetings of Miru.
